The Scoubidou Site

The Figure 8 knot is quite easy. I would like to thank Tamsyn for teaching me this knot. You learn something new every day!

 

1. Cut one strand in half.

2. Tie a knot in the END of a full strand, but don't pull it tight.

3. Slip it on the folded half strand, but leave a loop at the top. Then pull the full strand's knot tight.

4. There should be two shortish strands in the middle. Loop the full strand OVER the first strand and UNDER the second. Repeat this a couple of times and push the weaved part up.

5. To end off, you tie 1 knot around one of the half strand's strand. Then tie it to the other half. Tie about 2 knots on each side.
