The Scoubidou Site

This page is about the Square Scoubidou Knot. It is the starting point for any scoubidou project.

 

Here is how to make it.

1. Tie a start knot. It can have a loop, but it doesn't have to. It depends on what you are doing.

2. Take strand 1 and loop it towards you.

3. Take strand 2 and loop it away from you. You should get a bow shape when you look at it from the side.

4. Get strand 3 and loop it OVER strand 1 and through the loop of strand 2. Pull so it is out of the way.

5. Get strand 4 and loop it OVER strand 2 and through the loop of strand 1. Pull it so it is out of the way.

6. Pull strands 1 & 2 tight, but not so tight that they break.

7. Tighten strands 3 & 4 if you need to.

8. You have created the first knot of the Square knot! Continue these steps until you run out of scoubidous, or it is at desired length.
